First phase of new multi-sensor camera technology delivered to ensure safer and greener streets in Hammersmith & Fulham
The multi-sensor cameras will be rolled out across the district as part of the four-year contract, while North develops a state-of-the-art public space CCTV network to replace the existing analog system, which is nearing the end of its life.
New, state-of-the-art CCTV cameras have been installed across the borough as part of a £5million project between the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham (H&F) Council and North, the leading provider of technology solutions and services.
The White City Estate and Shepherds Bush Green districts are the first to benefit from the installation of the cameras, which will monitor a full 360-degree view of the area with clearer images provided by upgraded sensors. Through innovative IoT technology, the cameras will also provide analytics to the council, enabling it to make informed decisions about traffic rerouting, air quality management, enhancing public spaces for visitor interaction and accessibility.

Tony Oliver, Technical Advisor Team Leader at North, said: “The investment H&F Council is making to improve CCTV operations underscores its clear commitment to continually improving the quality of the environment for the people who live there. North is incredibly proud to be working with H&F teams to create a state-of-the-art public space CCTV network that will go a long way towards improving the safety and well-being of the area.
“In recent years, North has significantly expanded its portfolio of work with local authorities across the UK, demonstrating the power of intelligent solutions to provide data-driven insights into how people interact with cities and communities. This allows decision makers to make more informed decisions that benefit communities, local economies and sustainability.”
Councilor Rebecca Harvey, H&F Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion and Community Safety said:
