Tinubu in Kaduna, vows to tackle insecurity, unemployment
Amid tight security, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, at the flag-off of a mega rally in Kaduna State, promised to tackle insecurity and unemployment if elected president in the February 25, 2023 presidential election in the country.
The rally was also for governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and state Assembly candidates in the North-West zone comprising Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Jigawa Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara States.
The 30-thousand-capacity main bowl of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in the heart of city, was partially filled on Tuesday.
Apart from the provision of jobs for the teeming unemployed youths across the country, the standard bearer said he would boost agriculture for food sufficiency in the land.
This was as he said that Nigerians would not regret voting him as President next year.
While addressing supporters drawn from the North-West zone, Tinubu, who said he was pained over insecurity in Kaduna State in particular and Nigeria in general, added that terrorism would be totally eliminated under him as President next year.
Tinubu also appealed to his teeming supporters to ensure that they collect their Permanent Voter Cards to enable them cast their votes on election day for all elective party members in the forthcoming elections across the zone.
He also hailed Governor Nasir El-Rufai for the infrastructural development of the state, noting that he was pleased to know that he had a worthy successor in Uba Sani, the governorship candidate of the party in the state.
Tinubu said, “We thank God Almighty that brought you people here, we thank you for remaining loyal and faithful to our party, you will never regret it.
“In Shaa Allah, all those troublemakers, all those kidnappers, killers who are troubling the security of Kaduna and Northern Nigeria, I assure you, we will eliminate them.
“El-Rufai has done a good job, go around Kaduna, you will see how organised, how clean it is. And he has boosted the internally generated revenue. But a leader without a good successor is not a good leader. He has given us a young, energetic and honest boy, Uba Sani, to become the next governor of Kaduna State.
“Let me now tell you, you should vote all candidates of our dear party, from president to governor, to senator, to House of Representatives (members), to House of Assembly, to chairmen and even councillors. May God bless you. God will turn this sunny day to a brighter day and bless you and your children. You will never regret today.
“Everyone of you should go home with determination, check your PVC, do not let them deny you your PVC. If you have not collected your PVC, please, in the name of Almighty Allah that gives power, go and collect your PVC.
“Today, the sun is brighter, the sky is clear, we don’t want to talk too much, we want you to go back home in peace, happiness and joy. Our hope is here, we will do everything to make you the young ones properly employed. We will create jobs. We will establish the marketing board that will give you the right prices, that will give you comfort in your homes and make you a better people. May Allah bless you all, thank you very much Kaduna.”
Earlier, the national chairman of the the Party, Senator Abdulllahi Adamu, had expressed appreciation to the people of state for turning out en-mass to receive their presidential candidate.
Adamu, who spoke in Hausa, said, “We are overwhelmed by this flood, not flood of water, but of human beings who have come out to receive our presidential candidate. We have nothing else to say, because you have spoken for us with this large turn out that we have seen. I am not surprised though, because when we talk about north, we must talk about Kaduna. Kaduna is the navel of the north.
“We have nothing else to say than to thank you. Our hope therefore is that, on the elections day, you should come out en-mass and vote for the APC and vote for our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Also speaking, the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, explained how the presidential candidate dared the bandits by travelling to Birnin-Gwari at night, noting that the gesture was an indication that, Nigeria under Tinubu as president, would be safe.
Among the dignitaries in attendance at the rally were: Governors Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Simon Lalong of Plateau, Aminu Masari of Katsina, and Bello Mattawalle of Zamfara States.
Security in the main bowl of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium was tight as supporters were frisk before entering.
