Fife rapist who attacked girl, 15, and sleeping woman jailed for eight years
A "dangerous" rapist who attacked a 15-year-old girl and a sleeping woman has been jailed for eight years.
Darren Glass, 30, denied any wrongdoing but was found guilty following a trial.
A court heard how he molested and raped the teenage schoolgirl at a house in his hometown of Kirkcaldy, Fife.
The incident was said to have taken place between 1 November and 31 December 2021.
Glass also raped a woman between 1 April and 30 June 2021 at a house near Lochgelly in Fife.
His assault began while she was asleep but continued after she woke up.
Glass carried out a separate sex attack on her later that year at an address in Glenrothes, Fife.
He additionally sent the woman a photo of his genitals in May 2022.
Judge Simon Collins KC said he had read victim impact statements detailing the effects of his crimes on the females, including flashbacks and difficulty sleeping.
At the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday, Glass was jailed for eight years, placed on the sex offenders' register indefinitely, and banned from contacting his victims for 15 years.
Following the court case, Detective Constable Steven Grant said: "Glass is a dangerous individual who now faces the consequences of his despicable actions.
"I would like to commend his victims for their strength in coming forward during the investigation.
"Their information was essential in helping us build the case against him and our thoughts remain with them. I hope this outcome provides them with some sense of closure."
