Gunmen Abduct Benue Commissioner

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in Benue State, Ekpe Ogbu, has been abducted by gunmen.

The commissioner was kidnapped on Sunday evening along the Otukpo-Ado road, Ado LGA of the state.

Three other persons were said to be in the commissioner’s car, but it is unconfirmed if they were also kidnapped.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Anene Sewuese, who confirmed the incident, said officers have been dispatched to the area and that updates on the incident will be made public.

Also, Special Adviser to the Governr on Security Matters, Lt. Col. Paul Hemba (rtd), said a man hunt has been launched to rescue him and arrest the abductors.
