Crash investigated as 'possible speeding incident'
Police are investigating the crash that killed Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva as "a possible speeding incident", a Spanish government source has told the PA news agency.
Klopp: Jota a great friend, loving husband and father
Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has shared an emotional tribute to Diogo Jota on Instagram.
"This is a moment where I struggle! There must be a bigger purpose, but I can't see it," he writes.
"I'm heartbroken to hear about the passing of Diogo and his brother Andre. Diogo was not only a fantastic player, but also a great friend, a loving and caring husband and father.
"We will miss you so much. All my prayers, thoughts and power to Rute, the kids, the family, the friends and everyone who loved them."
Jota played 145 games under Klopp's management at Liverpool, scoring 56 times for the German coach.
Jota's trophy success
Diogo Jota won three trophies during his five and a half seasons at Liverpool, helping secure the Premier League title back in April.
The Portuguese forward also won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during his time on Merseyside, making 182 total appearances for the club.
Jota also helped Portugal win their UEFA Nations League trophy for the second time last month, coming off the bench in their extra-time win against Spain.
Wolves: 'You will be truly missed'
Wolves say the club is "heartbroken".
Diogo Jota played for the Midlands club from 2017 to 2020 before he joined Liverpool.
The club said: "You will be truly missed, and always remembered."
'Liverpool will know they are supported'
Football writer Henry Winter has been speaking to Sky News.
He tells presenter Jayne Secker that Liverpool will be getting countless messages in public and private, paying tribute to Jota and offering support.
Liverpool teammates: 'I will always remember you with your smile'
Diogo Jota's Liverpool teammates Darwin Nunez, Stefan Bajcetic and Naby Keita have paid tribute to him.
Uruguayan striker Nunez says there are "no words of comfort for so much pain."
He adds: "I will always remember you with your smile, as a good companion on and off the field.
"I send all my strength to his family, from where he is I'm sure he will always be with you, especially his wife and three children."
Spanish youngster Stefan Bajcetic shared an image of the pair in training, saying: "You will always be remembered my friend."
Keita, who joined Liverpool two years before Jota and left in 2023, posted on Instagram: "Shocked by the news, RIP bro."
Sharing pictures of them playing and training together for Liverpool, he added: "I will never forget you bro."
Mourners gather at Anfield as flag flies at half-mast
Here are the scenes outside Anfield Stadium where more people have arrived to pay their respects to Diogo Jota.
The flag baring the Liverpool club crest is flying at half-mast, while fans have laid flowers, shirts and scarves on the ground.

Deputy prime minister Angela Rayner has just visited Anfield, laying flowers and briefly speaking to reporters.
She was in the city for a local government conference, but came to Liverpool's ground after the "shocking" news of Jota's death.
"I'm absolutely devastated for his wife and his children and his family. I can't imagine what they're going through at the moment."
She added: "My son is 28. It's really shocking. You speak to people here and he was like a family member for Liverpool fans."
Liverpool city region mayor Steve Rotheram joined Rayner to lay a tribute at Anfield.
'Jota helped my son more than he will ever know - I wish I could have thanked him'
Diogo Jota sent a supportive video message to a young Liverpool fan when he was struggling four years ago.
The boy's dad has paid tribute to the footballer, saying the message - which you can watch below - "helped more than he will ever know".
"It was a small task, but it meant so much and I would have loved to have thanked him personally for it," he added.
